Alien Resident Certificate
Resident Visa holders (or ones who obtained Resident Visa within ROC by visa change) are required to
 
apply for the Alien Resident Certificate and Re-entry Permit at their local office of Ministry of Interior National
 
Immigration Agency within 15 days after their arrival.
 
 
Office for application
 
Submit the application to any local service center of National Immigration Agency. For residents in Taoyuan, submit application to Taoyuan County Service Center.

Required documents
 
1.       A completed application form
2.       Two 1-inch photos (one for renewal)
3.       The original passport and Resident Visa and one photocopy of each (originals will be returned after verification).
4.       Student identification card, certificate of enrollment (Registry Section, Office of Academic Affairs) and resident certificate (Housing Section, Office of Student Affairs).
 
 
Application fee
 
One year term: NT$1,000.
Two year term: NT$2,000.
Three year term: NT$3,000.
 
 
Application procedure
 
Please prepare the required documents and go to the Taoyuan Service Center. The process can be done in person or by a representative.
The applicant should fill out an authorized statement on the application form or attach a letter of authorization.
 
 
Notice
 
1.      Foreigners with Resident Visa, please apply for A.R.C. to the police department in your resident city within 15 days after arrival at the local county police headquarters nearest to your residence. Re-entry permit can also be applied at the same time.
2.      International students have to apply for A.R.C extension one month before the expired date. Those who don’t apply for extension, their residence will be ceased by the authorized agency, and they may be expelled from Taiwan.
